This conservation area is accessible off of Commerford Road. From google maps the parking area is at approximately #140 Commerford Road. Take Rte 2A off the Concord Rotary, a right on Commerford Road just after the prison, go to the end and take a right into the new houses. Parking is on the right.
Take Monument St from the Center of Concord, travel approx 2 miles to Balls Hill Road, take a right on Balls Hill Road and follow it to the end where there is a parking lot. This is a Concord Land Trust land you can find out more at http://www.concordland.org/properties/
Directions: From Rte. 2 take Sudbury Road toward Sudbury, go approx. ¼ mile, on your left there is what appears to be 2 driveways right next to each other, the first is actually the entrance to one of Concord’s well heads and has a small parking area marked with a split rail fence, turn into this driveway and park. If you are following a GPS nav system it is roughly 636 Sudbury Road in Concord.
Here is a link to the trail map http://www.actontrails.org/MapWetherbeeLand.htm, this is a relatively small area (72 acres), the loop trail is approx. 1 mile long, parts of it are quite close to Rte 2 so we will be working on leash walking. As long as it hasn’t rained recently there are very few swampy areas, but there is one vernal pool close to the trail head at the end of the field on the right.
We will be accessing this area from 33 Spring Hill Road in Concord, which is off of Pope Rd near Spencer Brook Road. You can read about these areas and print off a trail map at this link http://www.actontrails.org/MapNBSHCA.htm , with roughly 360 acres of conservation land and connecting trails it is an area that can take several trips to really explore!
Directions Take Simon Willard Road off Elm Street in Concord MA to approx #325. Parking is on the side of the road, the trail leads to Egg Rock http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egg_Rockan historic sight.
The rugged and beautiful Reformatory Branch Trail meanders more than 4 miles through three natural areas: Elm Brook Conservation Area, Mary Putnam Webber Wildlife Preserve, and Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge and extends from Concord to Bedford. Parking is available at the Mill Brook Tarry (this is a strip of office/retail condos on Lowell Rd) across from trail head located at 170 Lowell Road in Concord Center, you can also park in the Rite Aid Pharmacy lot or the municipal lot behind th
Our adventure this week will in West Concord at the end of Wright Road off Laws Brook Road. From the Training Center (or train tracks in West Concord), head west on Main St toward Commonwealth Ave. At Commonwealth Ave (this is the road that splits off to the right and heads toward the prison and rotary) continue straight onto Laws Brook Road, proceed approx .6 miles to Wright Road (on the right). Go to the end of the road, there and park in the cul de sac. Be sure to avoid parking in front of th
This is part of the Concord Land Conservation Commission land trust it is located at 1135 Lowell road almost directly across the street from the Red Gate entrance to Estabrook (it is on the opposite side of the street, marked by two blue reflectors and looks like a driveway – a bit hard to find, but worth it). Park on Lowell Road by the Red Gate entrance and cross the street on foot as there is limited parking at the Newbury trail head. I have attached the link to the trail map http://www.con
Directions: From Rte 2 take Sudbury road toward Rte 117 (Nine Acre Corner). At the intersection of 117 and Sudbury Rd take a left toward Lincoln. Go approx. 1 mi to large parking area on left (it’s a little tricky to see – if you go past a pond on your LEFT you’ve gone too far). The closest address on Google I could find is 100 S. Great Road, Lincoln MA. If you type that into Google and click on the street view you can advance a click at a time until you see the parking lot.
Located at 500 Walden St in Concord, MA - across from the entrance to the Concord Carlisle High School.Directions: From Rte 2 take Walden Street (Rte 126) toward Concord Center, shortly after you turn (1/4 mile or so) take a right into the parking area (right across from the entrance to the High School).
